It really depends on what your business provides and who your demographic is. Each social media platform is its own magic- using the wrong type of content on the wrong audience could be disastrous for your business. Be clear on the problem you solve, how you can help your intended audience, and who exactly is your intended audience.
Inconsistency is one of the main ones. Give your audience something to look forward to. Research shows the best ways to build growth and engagement is by posting consistently and with a content schedule. Another common mistake is not showing your face (or the face of the brand). It takes 1/10 of a second for someone to determine whether they trust you and we humans are visual creatures. Post yourself sometimes; save the stock photos for filler days.
If you’re finding it difficult to get visibility for your products or services, social media advertising (think Facebook ads/boosts or IG promotions) might be the best option you have. You shouldn’t rely on this approach every time you post, but boosting every now and then could have a major impact.
Growing your social media following involves a lot of planning and strategizing as well as posting the right content and targeting the right audience. Strategies like tagging brands, followers and locations whenever you can are super useful and so is keeping up to date on new tools on each individual platform – think IG stories, IGTV, and Reels now. Also posting consistently, sometimes up to twice a day, never fails.
